Dictation permissions setup

QuickWhisper's Dictation feature allows you to transcribe speech directly into text fields in any application on your Mac. To make it work, we needs a special permission to paste text into other apps automatically.

Accessibility Permission

Initial Setup

Before using Dictation, you must grant QuickWhisper Accessibility permission. This allows the app to insert transcribed text directly into text fields, search boxes, and other input areas across your system.

  1. Open System Settings β†’ Privacy & Security β†’ Accessibility

  2. Find QuickWhisper in the list of apps

  3. Make sure the toggle next to it is checked

Troubleshooting

Still doesn’t work? Sometimes Accessibility permission may stop working even though it appears enabled. If dictation isn't pasting text into other apps and you are sure that the microphone is functional, follow these steps:

  1. Open System Settings β†’ Privacy & Security β†’ Accessibility

  2. Select QuickWhisper in the Accessibility list

  3. Click the "-" button to remove it completely

  4. Restart QuickWhisper

  5. See that QuickWhisper reappeared in the Accessibility list

  6. Make sure the toggle next to it is checked
