Dictation

Transform how you interact with applications and MacOS. QuickWhisper now brings voice dictation to every application on your Mac. Your productivity soar as you speak your thoughts directly into any text field. Dictation works 4x times faster than typing according to our internal tests.

To enable Dictation, simply go to Settings -> Dictation to enable it and assign your preferred hotkey.

One more thing! We added Dictation history, so that nothing gets lost. To access Dictation history simply go to Menubar icon -> Dictation history.

Support of Nvidia Parakeet (Experimental)

QuickWhisper now supports Nvidia's blazing fast Parakeet model.

When OpenAI came out with its Whisper family of AI transcription models, they felt like magic. Soon, newer transcription models did to Whisper what it had once done to its predecessors. Nvidia's Parakeet is one of them.

While Parakeet has been available through open-source tools, not everyone is comfortable navigating command-line interfaces or managing custom model deployments. Thankfully, that changes now. Parakeet is now avaliable in QuickWhisper, showing truly astonishing speed. Transcribe a 30-minute recording in under 10 seconds.

Note: Parakeet support is still experimental. It currently only supports only English and full text transcription without independent segments.

To experience Parakeet, go to Settings -> Advanced -> Experimental -> Use Parakeet engine
