How to use Dictation

The dictation feature in QuickWhisper lets you transcribe speech into any text field across your Mac. Simply configure your preferred activation method in settings, and you can quickly type by speaking anywhere on your system - whether in search boxes, text editors, web forms, or any other text input area.

How to enable dictation in QuickWhisper

You can enable the dictation feature through Settings → Dictation.

Before you can use dictation, QuickWhisper needs Accessibility permission:

1. Grant accessibility permission - Dictation permissions setup

2. Configure Dictation keys

3. Configure your preferred activation method:

   • Toggle mode: Press your keyboard shortcut once to start recording, press again to stop

   • Push-to-talk: Hold down your assigned key while speaking, release when finished
